COURSE REPORT OCTOBER 2026
Greens are recovering well from renovations last month, with additional fertiliser added to the 3rd & 15th greens to help improve coverage.
We will then turf patch any areas needed to these greens including two small patches on the 2nd green.
The rest of the greens are in great, healthy condition moving into summer.
The roller will be back in action as soon as the course dries out.
That being said, we just had 485mm in 10 days to end October with, not what we needed for golf, however there’s a positive in that all dams are full.
The boys have been busy repairing washouts on all cart paths, bridges and with general clean-up of trees and debris from this week’s wet weather.
With our new bunker machine we are able to push the sand back on the walls, and level out the bases and be back in play a lot faster than before.
The 10th tee has now been completed, a great start to improving the levels and turf quality to our tee surfaces.
With minimising costs such as building our own sand bins, we are currently making one for the 1st tee and another for next to the cart shed.
Plans are to continue these sand bins for all tee areas and you will start seeing these bins replaced over the course in coming months.
The concrete path to the 16th tee has been postponed again due to weather, with the next scheduled date for this project 23rd & 24th November.
All drains will be cleaned by Kev and his excavator next week pending the weather, and this will help improve all areas for the course with heavy rainfall like we have just received.
After this rain has moved on, the ground staff will be mowing all areas non-stop.
Whilst being down a rough mower and awaiting our new machine, we will be running split shifts to ensure the course rough is kept under control as best as possible, with areas still very wet.
A robotic waste destruction machine has been booked in but is on hold due to the weather.
The wasteland area adjacent to the 12th & 13th holes will be cleared out with this machine to give us a dumping spot for all our green waste, and we will then be able control burn when needed, safely.
Fairway mower cutting units have been sent away for reconditioning, and am hoping to have these back by next week.
Let’s hope for less rain and more golf for November.
