JUNE 2023 – Greens Report
A lot is happening on the course with the ground staff attacking winter projects as the growing has halted.
The 3rd bunker has been completed and is in play, and we cut a new face edge, removed all old sand and drainage and replaced with new drainage lines and fresh sand.
The trees heading up to the 1st tee have been pruned and the overhanging branches on the 6th hole have also been completed.
We are currently filling in the righthand side bunker on the 4th and I just wnt to say I’ve lost count on how many loads the boys have done to fill this large bunker but it will be a great change to the hole when completed.
I have done a course review on dead trees and any dangerous overhanging branches including the tree before the 4th bunker and will continue tree work in the coming months.
We have also started stage one of the 17th tee project, and this is placing a road base (non concrete) path alongside the tee. Stage two will be building an elevated back tee dropping down to a flat bottom tee for social and ladies. Stage three will be installing irrigation and 600 square metres of turf.
The course is looking great and greens that are in the shade are holding on due to the good weather!
Next month we will be continuing the works on the 17th tee, finishing the 4th bunker, and new concrete will be continued on the 7th hole.
The course is very busy, the sun is out and all is well on the course, and is great to be improving some areas while the grass has slowed down.
