COURSE REPORT JULY 2026
It was a tough start to the month with the course remaining very wet and this caused minor leaf diseases on certain greens that already suffer from shade. All greens have been treated and are under control.
Whilst the course was too wet for the rough mowers, the greens staff were busy with other projects such as:
All trees to the course were snipped following a herbicide application to the tree bases that will prevent weeds for six months.
Tree pruning of low overhanging branches throughout the course.
Anti-slip tread was applied to all steps on the course.
A large tree was removed behind the 6th hole that was classed dangerous and a big thanks to ACA for getting the tree removed so quickly in the wet conditions.
The main carpark had a good clean up, removing all mulch from the entrance and the staff did a big clean-up of the centre island, pruning all palm trees .
We are currently in the middle of installing new drainage to the outlet of the existing pipes that is located just over the hill on the 5th hole.
This will be completed by next week and there will be no G.U.R or lost balls down the large hole area once completed.
One of our greens staff Peter has resigned and moved on. He had spent many years with the grounds crew and we wish him all the best for the future.
A replacement has been assigned, and Brett will start and replace Peter on the August 10th. He brings a positive energy with years of greenkeeping experience.
The 10th tee project is nearly underway with all reports and quotes having been submitted, and an update on the project /start time and all details will be in next month’s report.
Work of installing the new concrete path to the 16th tee has been postponed, as the trucks were unable to get to the site area. We attempted last Monday and the grounds were just too wet and so this work has now been rescheduled for September 28th & 29th.
Finally, some sunshine to end the month with, and the team is currently mowing all areas of the course. Let’s hope for a dry August.
