Has been a very busy month mowing for the ground staff, and the rough mowers have been out every day, even in the rain.
It has been up and down with the weather as we prep the course each week, with the rain seeming to come for the weekend, and with a lot of it.
There’s always a positive though with all our dams being full.
In between mowing during a very busy month, we have cut and cleaned up multiple fallen trees around the course.
Greens have been treated with insecticide and fungicides.
All areas below have been whipper-snipped and completed:
Dam walls, drain covers, drain valve boxes, tee batters and signs, distance markers and plates, 18th back wall, 12th bank wall and areas of the chipping & putting green, and around the clubhouse.
We are still seeing the same issue with the greens such as 2nd, 3rd and 15th. The 15th green was badly contaminated with crows foot weed, and we have removed most of it by hand and currently pushing with fertiliser and sand to recover these areas on the green.
The 2nd and 3rd greens need turf patching again in the same areas that we see every year around the collar.
We are still waiting on a few more details on the irrigation plan and hopefully next month we will have a full plan to put forward with costings and ideas of the whole irrigation project. This will include extension of the 17th dam and power upgrade to the 17th dam.
