Greens Report – September 2024

SEPTEMBER 2024 – SUPERINTENDANTS REPORT

Greens renovations were very successful this month and after two weeks, the sand is washing in nicely. We will be able to use the roller very soon.

We have stripped the top grass off a few tees, including the 4th, 7th ,8th and 18th and replaced with new turf.

Markers will stay off the tees for a few more weeks and will open back up in October.

Other tees that we are looking at quickly repairing are the 3rd, 6th and 16th with major tee works on hold until next year.

All bunkers have been weeded and snipped, and I will be adding in some fresh new sand in October.

Our new blower has arrived and will be used weekly for the greens and course.

I am holding off for some rain before giving the fairways and greens surrounds another fertiliser application. The course is quickly drying out again and the boys are hand watering tees with the ute and water tanks weekly, with our main irrigation running on greens every night.

All areas such as dams, bank walls, drains etc have been snipped and hazard lines will be done again this month.

Lastly, we will be repairing the small bare areas on some greens with 328 turf such as the 6th and 3rd and the back of the 15th green.

The course is in great shape heading into October and the greens should recover from the renovations very soon.
