August 2023 – Greens Report
Another dry month, and the course actually needs some rain. Can you believe it!
Definitely prefer this winter than previous years: the course is in great shape as we are nearly over the cool season.
This month we continued another 80 metres of concrete on the 7th hole, and is now open.
This will be the end for now as we will start new works on the 3rd hole in two weeks’ time.
These areas of the front 9 should now see us out of trouble for any future floods that see our carts out of play. That’s a huge win for the club as this means more golf.
The 17th tee is near completion, and final stages of shaping and turfing will continue next week and will be opened for the Nambour Open.
Course renovations will be underway in the first week of September two weeks’ time, with 12mm solid tine coring and 4mm dethatch followed by sand and fertilised.
Normal green time recovery of 4 to 6 weeks as we move into some nice warm weather.
The course is dry and the boys are doing their best with hand-watering while the irrigation pump is working hard.
Fairways and surrounds will be fertilised this week.
