COURSE REPORT – MAY 2026
There has been a bit too much rain on the course this month for playing golf, however the greens staff have managed to complete a few projects whilst the rough mowers were stationery.
The 5th drainage works have been completed, and there are currently stakes and rope marked with GUR in place. This will be removed shortly once I am happy with the area.
All bunkers have been edged and cleaned up.
All bridges and steps have been checked out, cleaned and safety tape added to certain slippery areas to help through the winter period.
All fairways and green surrounds were fertilised.
The car that was dumped at the entrance had now been removed.
All tee markers and fairway markers have been trimmed and painted.
New ropes have been added to the safety posts on the 7th hole, 3rd and 11th hills and the 13th tee area.
A few tees that struggle in shade on the course have been seeded with POA and this will help with coverage through this time.
The protective netting between the 13th tee and the 15th green is past its age and needs to be replaced. We have temporarily supported the current netting but it won’t last long.
Next week the ACA team will continue tree clean-up work around the course, and next month we begin the project of fixing up the 16th tee, and this will begin first with a new concrete path.
The course in great shape, and now that the rain has moved on, the roller is back in action and all areas have been maintained.
