JULY 2023 – Greens Report
The weather has been perfect with a few showers coming at the right time.
A complete opposite of last year, and as previously mentioned, certain greens on our course suffer from shade especially during winter.
We have under two months left until renovations and I’m very happy that the greens will hold on until then.
The team has started stage two of the 17th tee, the path has been completed and the men’s competition box has been started, followed by irrigation installation. Next month we will be constructing the bottom area of the men’s white and ladies’ area, and a temporary tee will be in place whilst the works is completed.
The team have started snipping all areas such as drains, banks and dam walls.
All hazard areas will be line-marked next week.
The fairways and green surrounds were hit with dollar spot (disease) and these areas have been treated and under control.
A small reminder to our members: please repair your divots and pitch marks on greens. The growth/recovery time for these issues are much longer and your help with a quick repair is much appreciated, not only by the course staff but to our other golfers as well. A big thanks to Kim Evans for volunteering for the past two weeks with repairing these divots on the 1st hole.
Another 80 metres of concrete path has been completed on the 7th hole and looks great! We will be continuing another 160 metres over the next two months and this will complete a full concrete path all the way down the 7th.
