    RULES TEST FOR YOU

Our local rule, permanently written on the reverse of our score card, provides 'relief from ant's nest' without penalty (move one card length, place).

Andrew Webb was showing Rob his bright new orange balls before the game on Thursday. Later, Andrew's ball landed on, actually in, an ant nest. You are his marker - would you allow him to take relief without penalty? What advice about the 'card length' would you provide?

Read on and have a look at this next photo and decide!

    PENNANT PLAY

The Pennant season is well under way now. This weekend past, A Grade and the Juniors played at Horton Park. Juniors had another good win and are guaranteed a place in the finals. A Grade wilted in the home run and lost to Mt Coolum (curse on you Nigel!!)

Have a look at some of the photos of the Nambour boys in action at Horton Park.

    KEEPING UP

The one whinge which comes from players consistently is - the slow group in front!! I know we complain about the greens, the rough, the swirling wind , the handicapping, the tees, etc ad nauseum ..... but pace of play is a regular chestnut. It becomes more obvious when the course has been really wet, and balls are harder to find!

And this is not just peculiar to us - in fact Golf Australia has provided some advice to golfers on how to improve their pace of play. Read on for some good advice.

  • POSITIVE PENNANTS

The Men's Pennant Season has kicked off for our B Grade and Masters teams. (A Grade & Juniors start April 14). But what a start! Both teams are so far undefeated, with our B Grade leading the pack comfortably.

The B Grade team, at home, demolished Headland last Sunday 24 March, and the previous week did the same to Mt Coolum, 6:1. For all the results for this team click here  B GRADE

Masters team followed up their Bye last week with a convincing win over Caloundra at the lengthy Peregian Springs course, winning 4.5 matches to 2.5. For a full score sheet, click here MASTERS

  • ERIC LOGAN DAY

So many of you know Eric Logan, and his trials with Leukemia. What we didn't realise was just how many friends and colleagues he has until they all turned up for a fund raiser on Monday 11 March. What a day!

A 10 a.m. shotgun start for a really full field of over 100 players, rain holding off and some really suspect looking players made for a good and interesting day. Winning team with a Gross of just 56 (12 under!)was Frosty Robinson, Frank Wilson, Doug Courtney and David Grenfell. Nett Winners (56 on a C/B) went to the Air Rite team.

I had time to snap a couple of pics - read on.
