Male Members - General Conditions of Play

 

GENERAL CONDITIONS OF PLAY

for MALE MEMBERS’ COMPETITIONS.

 

(To be read in conjunction with Rules of Golf 2008-2011)

 

The match committee may amend “Conditions of Play” if in its absolute discretion and having regard to all of the circumstances it considers the change is warranted.

 

 Grades, game times, dates and prizes for competitions will be determined by the match committee. Dates will be published in the “MEMBERS FIXTURE BOOK” and on the Nambour Golf Club Web site.

 

 Visitors who play in club competition will

 

• Produce proof of club membership and handicap
• Pay ½ green fees + competition fee
• Be eligible to win only  “OPEN” events
• Be ineligible to qualify for any club event or honour board events 

Should a visitor have the best score, a trophy will be made available by the Nambour Golf Club. Should a visitor and a member win a 4BBB event then they will receive the trophy of the day. A visitor must be a member of an affiliated club.

 

Ties for all GROSS events will be decided by a hole by hole sudden death play off on holes 1, 8, 9 unless otherwise stipulated. If there is still a tie after the three holes are played, then the process is repeated.

 

 Ties for 18 hole NET events will be decided by count back on last 9 holes. If the players have the same score for the last 9, the winner will be determined as per Rules of Golf p 147, section c on stroke play.

 

 Ties for 36 hole net events will be resolved on a count back of the last 18 holes. If no result then as above for 18 holes.

 

(Powergolf Computerised Systems, which is based on Rules of Golf Procedures, is in use.)

 

 Protests shall be made in writing to the match committee within 15 minutes of completion of round and before presentation commences.

 

 Juniors with an AGU handicap may play in any club competition with a maximum of 3 juniors in any one group.

A minimum of 16 (sixteen) players must compete before the trophies of the day will be presented. (Excluding Sunday)

 

 Single competitions:

 

a)           MEDLEY competition is non-graded and open to both male and female players.

 

b)           GRADED.  Grades will be dependant on the number of players and determined by the match committee. Eg. One grade only or, grades for men and for ladies.

 

 Club members who hole-in-one during club competitions scheduled for 18 holes (including pennants) will have names entered on the Hole-in-one Honour Board. They will receive an appropriate trophy and 1 dozen golf balls. The same conditions apply for “Albatrosses”. Eagles are recognized on par 4 holes as well as on par 5 holes for female members. The trophy for an eagle is 8 balls.  Female members also receive an Eagle badge. Eagles and albatrosses will not be recognized on holes with temporary tees or greens.

 

 New male members who do not hold an AGU handicap will be required to submit 3 duly marked cards to the Match Committee.

 

Club handicaps can be allocated at the discretion of the Match Committee. The holder of a “club only” handicap is ineligible to win any event, special prize (approaches, etc) or to qualify for any event.

 

 New members from outside Australia may apply to the match committee to have their handicaps transferred.

 

 Unless permitted by the match committee, all social play will be conducted from the designated social tees.

 

 Honorary members who are amateur golfers may compete in any NGC competition. Honorary members who are professional golfers may compete in club events except net events in monthly honours, Nambour Open, any honour board event or any event designated by Match Committee.

 

 Members playing junior events must be 17years or less on the first day of the event.

 

 The Management Committee may from time to time approve the alteration of a member’s handicap if in its absolute discretion and having regards to all of the circumstances including the member’s results in any form of competition, it considers that the change is warranted under the handicap system which the club follows. The member shall have no right to make any representation to the handicapper or to the Management Committee in relation to any proposed alteration of a member’s handicap. Golf Queensland must be advised and appropriate form returned.

 

 The club’s designated practice areas are

 

§         The practice nets beside #9 green.

 

§         The green behind the Pro Shop.

 

§         The “nursery or practice” green on the left of the 17th Green.  Members should hit from the grassed area on the right of the 17th Tee.  No practice here is permitted while players are playing the 17th hole.

 

During a practice round of golf, a maximum of 2 balls may be played.

 

PRACTICE NOT PERMITTED ON ANY OTHER PART OF THE COURSE.

 

 

Players may use motorised transport for any competition, gross, net or match play events, unless otherwise stipulated.

 

Distance measuring devices: A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. If during a stipulated round a player uses a distance measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (eg. Gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional function is actually used.
