Trainee Professional - Mark Shaw
We welcomed Mark Shaw as the trainee Pro earlier this year. As you talk with, and get to know him better, you will agree he is a great replacement for Darrell.
Mark is not a grandfather like Darrell, as he is still single, and he is of an age which will qualify him for the senior Pro Tour a few years after he finishes his traineeship!!
Mark has been playing golf since he was 13 years old, joining Pacific GC, under coach Rob Taylor. He later went to work with him in the pro shop for a couple of years.
After this he undertook work as a stock controller, gaining skills which stood him in good stead when he became a franchise owner of the House of Golf in Mt Gravatt.
Mark still plays off two, even though he has had periodic lay-offs from the game over his career.
With his breadth of experiences, Mark brings much to this new role, but his particular interests lie in club fitting, teaching and coaching, especially in Junior Development. He is also looking forward to qualifying for the Professional Tour opportunities.
Only one round to go - this one is the "COUNTER" played on Wednesday 8 September!!
The 2010 Mens Four Ball Match Play (Frank DeVere Memorial) is well under way, with this round determining quarter final teams. Most of the matches so far have been quite close, with winning margins surprisingly small - handicaps must be accurate?
YES - Nambour has been measured!! Mal has these little beauties on sale NOW!
We all know you cannot ground your club in the bunker.
So now that my new handicap is in play, what happens when I play my next game?
Need to refer back to a ruling given in a past month?
