Ladies Events Conditions of Play


Monthly Medal

Stroke competition (Nett) played over 18 holes in 3 divisions as determined by the Match Committee.  Trophies for winners in each division and recognition for the best Gross score.  March to September inclusive (7 rounds).

 Veterans event run in conjunction with Monthly Medal to be held in 3 Divisions as per Monthly Medal divisions.

 Monthly Medal Final

 Annual play off of monthly winners in each division and for Veterans. Players will play in the division in which they spent the majority of the season.

 Winners have their names engraved on the perpetual trophy and are awarded a personal trophy.

 Best Handicap Reduction

 Trophy awarded to the player who has the greatest reduction in handicap in any grade during the competition year.  (1st February – 31st October)

 Single Match Play

 18 hole handicap Match Play knockout competition for 8 best nett scores in one qualifying round. A nomination fee to be paid prior to the qualifying round for Match Play Event.  $2 fee was paid at time of revision.

 Use ‘Match Play Index’ to determine where strokes are given.  A match which ends “all square” will be played off hole by hole until one player wins a hole.  The play-off will start at the hole where the match began and strokes should be given as in the stipulated round.

 Two weeks allowed for each round of match play but following matches may be played before the scheduled 2 week period if agreed to by both players.  Times for rounds may be extended at discretion of Match Committee.

 The winner has her name engraved on the perpetual trophy.  Winner and runner up also receive trophies.

 Non Trophy Winners Event

 Players must have competed in at least 8 Thursday competitions during the competition year to be eligible for this event.

 Open Day

 18 hole stroke event open to all clubs.  The handicap ranges for 3 divisions are determined by the Match Committee after nominations are received.

 Trophies are awarded for:

 

            18 holes gross (3 divisions) and 18 holes gross runner up (3 divisions)

            18 holes nett (3 divisions) and 18 nett runner up (3 divisions)

            18 hole nett event for Veterans

 Players may receive one major trophy only but may receive one major trophy plus the Veterans trophy.  Winners do not receive a ball in the rundown.

 Invitation Day

 4BBB stableford – invitations sent to all clubs in Zone.

Trophies are awarded to the winners and runners up.  Trophy winners do not receive a ball in the rundown.

Two Nambour players playing together on Invitation Day are ineligible to win the winner or runners up trophies but are eligible to win balls in the run down.

General Conditions of Play

  • Divisions/Grades, dates and prizes for competitions will be determined by the Match Committee.  Dates to be published in ‘Members Fixture Book’.
  • The Hit-Off time for designated Ladies Competitions will be adjusted seasonally to the times of 7.30am, 8.00am and 8.30am as required. The Match Committee has the right to vary the times in special circumstances. Earlier Hit-Off is available for players with work and unexpected commitments.  The use of this time slot is at the discretion of the Match Committee.
  • Ties for Nett events will be decided by a count back using the last 9 holes on the card for 18 hole events and the last 18 holes for 27,36,54 and 72 hole events. See W.G.A Year Book (Rules and Regulations – Count Back for further details)
  • Ties for Gross events in Championships and Foursome Championships will be decided by a play of holes 1,8 and 9 and if no result is achieved a sudden death hole by hole play of 1,8 and 9 until a winner is decided.
  • Protests must be lodged in writing within 30 mins of completion of play and before presentation commences.
  • Minimum of 12 players must compete in a single event or 12 pairs in a 4B event before the trophy of the day will be presented.
  • Hole In One – reward for hole-in-one to be a bottle of Champagne (or choice), 6 balls and hole-in-one trophy.
  • Eagle – Eagle badge awarded to any financial lady golfer from any club for an Eagle on a Par 4 or 5 hole playing in a competition organised by the Ladies Committee on any day, including Pennant, 4B Match Play and Single Match Play.  A visiting lady is offered an Eagle Badge or a Hole-In-One trophy on a Par 3.
  • Mobile phones may be carried on the course but must be turned off during play.
  • Visitors – Visiting lady golfers may play in club competitions and will:
  • Provide proof of club membership and handicap
  • Pay ½ green fees plus competition fee
  • Be eligible to win the trophy of the day except on Monthly Medal Days and Annual Club Events.
  • Be ineligible to qualify for annual club events eg – Single Match Play.
  • Gaining an Australian Handicap – Any annual playing member of a bona-fide body affiliated with GA, being an amateur golfer may obtain an Australian Handicap by returning stroke scores over three rounds of 9 or 18 holes played from GA tees under Extra Day Scores, on the course or courses of any affiliated Club or Clubs (refer to Tournament Handbook). System of Handicapping – Life of Cards and retaining and regaining Scores for Handicapping.
  • If a player wins the competition trophy she is ineligible to win a ball in the rundown.  Includes Open and Invitation Days.
  • On Monthly Medal days a small trophy is awarded to the player with least putts.
  • In a Stroke round a trophy is given for the best Gross score.  In the event of a tie a normal count back will occur.  The winner of this is entitled to a ball in the run down.
  • Annual competition perpetual trophies e.g. Cups, Shields may be held by the winners for two weeks and then displayed in the club house.
  • Motorised Transport – Nambour Ladies Golf Club adopts the current Zone policy for motorised transport for all competitions. Any player using motorized transport is eligible to win any gross, nett or match play event.
  • Pennant Expenses - Ladies committee pays for players’ lunches and a ball per player at each game.  If a team makes the final caddies lunches are paid for also.
  • Play involving “Swingers” in Four-Ball Evens.  Refer to attachment No 1.


ATTACHMENT NO 1.

 

  • Players without a partner shall be issued with a score card upon which this player’s score for each hole shall be recorded by one of the other members of the group.  The player shall be responsible for the return of the card in accordance with Rule 6-6.
  • By lot, draw players who are without partners to form a side/s in the competition even though they are playing in different groups.
  • Compile Four-ball score cards for each side formed in this manner, from the scores recorded on the individual score cards.
  • In the event of a further player still not having been allocated a partner under the above procedure, the Committee should form a side for this player by randomly drawing another player from within the competition field and compiling a Four-ball card from the appropriate score cards.  In such a case, only the previously un-partnered player is eligible to receive a prize won by this pair.
