COURSE CONDITION: CLOSED 11 Mar '10
Latest Inspection: 10.00 a.m. Thursday 11 MarchDecision: The course is closed.
The course was reviewed again by Match Committee at 10.00 Thursday 11 March, with a view to making a decision on play over the next three days.
This inspection confirmed closure of the course for Thursday 11th March, Friday 12th March and Saturday 13th March.
A Course inspection will be held at 10am Saturday. It is not envisaged that there will be any play on this day, but please call after 11am for an update.
Over two inches of rain again on Wednesday night and seventeen inches of rain prior to this over the past week has left our course absolutely saturated. Rain is forcast into the middle of next week, and is falling heavily at the moment. Green staff are desperately attempting to prepare the course for play as soon as possible. However the wet, slippery conditions make it extremenly dangerous to get machinery onto the worst parts of the course. Some mowing is being competed to 'air' the ground, and some is being done with brush cutters.
However, there is much about the terrain on our course which makes walking, especially on slopes a risk to safety at worst, and at best some injured pride and wet backsides.
Weather forecast also predicts more rain for us on today and into next week.Consequently the course condition is continually reviewed, attempting to having our course open as soon as possible. Yes, we need to let our golfing tragics loose on the course before mental health is impaired, we want to make money for the Club, but not at the risk to your safety!

RULE for MARCH: Ahh - my ball has moved by itself!
You are holding the flagstick for a fellow competitor who is about to putt when your ball lying on a sloping section of the green about 4 metres away starts to roll and comes to rest 60cm away from its original position. What do you do?
