Quarry

One of the issues which affects the decision to relocate our golf course is the proximity of the two working quarries adjacent to the course.

Local Government is reluctant to approve any residential development which lies within a 500 metre radius of a working hard-rock quarry. So of course, this would affect the value which developers will try to apply to our land.

Thanks to John Battilana for this aerial of the quarries adjacent to our Club.

You can obtain a better appreciation of the impact the quarries have on our decision to investigate moving. Currently, an active quarry within 500 metres would prohibit any residential building on parts of the land on our course. Hole #7 is about 500 metres, so that gives you an idea of how close the two quarries are to us.

Discussions with relevant stakeholders, however, are still alive!
